Project Description
This study aims to investigate the challenges for developing cooperation
between spacefaring and space emerging nations. For this purpose, the spacefaring
nations, except for Canada, are described as the countries which have independent
access to space and capable to execute both or either one of the space exploration
missions which are human spaceflight and deep space probe. The space emerging
nations are described as the countries without the capability of spacefaring nations
but still able to operate satellites. The cooperation programs in six spacefaring
nations and another six space emerging nations are individually analyzed and
tabulated into their frameworks of cooperation. Their frameworks of cooperation are
compared and the differences are identified as the challenges to cooperation.
Subsequently, some recommendations are made to overcome these challenges. It is
basically concluded that there are some opportunities for cooperation between
spacefaring and space emerging nations subjected to their wills to resolve their
differences.
