In the first workshop organized by IISC, the main conclusion was that space was increasingly becoming an economic commodity.
Building on that, with participation of researchers and space policy professionals, the Second IISC Workshop will focus on the advantages for society of space applications, with an emphasis on:
The present transition of public oriented space activities towards more private oriented space activities, and
The roles of governments as a catalyst within this ongoing project
The aim of the workshop is to combine the opinions of researchers with the views of policy makers to foster common understanding as to how the growing importance of space activities can be more effectively imbedded in policies.
